    Default Voyage Century Online

    Any one play it?

Its a 16-18th century pirate game pretty much but the cool thing is it covers the entire globe and so say your bored with killing pirates in the Mediterranean and you want to goto the AMERICA'S go for it or goto japan and learn about the mystical far east

This is one of those "free" games where the developers encourage you to buy in game goodies with real life money. You can still have a good time playing without spending cash, but u will be behind the curve a bit.

My wife and I played this together before I shipped out, for about 2-3 months. Its pretty fun, to be honest, and you can run multiple clients at once so you can make some little trader toons to tag along with your main and make some in game money. We dropped a couple bills on in game goodies, went pirate, joined a PK guild and all in all had a lot of fun. I got a mid sized ship and mastered rifles, and raised a high level pet bear.

then i left, and much to my chagrin, the little lady stopped playing as well. I thought marriage was about leveling each others characters when one is away, but i guess not.

In a few months when i get home i may play some more if my RL friends are still going at it (a few of us here in town started playing together, they too all quit when i left) but if not, then i doubt ill play alone.

I like the company that runs the game. their translation is horrible, i think its cute.

Its an asian-style MMO so prepare for a lot of grinding. Had a lvl8
Raider on Columbus when I quit 4 months ago (leveling my land fighting skills above 60 was more than I could bear).

But I have to agree with Major Robert Dump, a nice game overall.

I have played it for a while, but the only real fun in this game is in piracy. Merchanting and adventuring quickly become extremely boring.

Sadly, a pirate's life is made so hard by the developers (just think of the long real-time jail sentences) that it is hardly worth the trouble. I went to Tortuga as a level 3 adventurer/pirate and had some fun sinking Iberian (NPC) merchants and being generally pesky in PvP, but the odds stacked against even the best pirates are too high.

It would be fun though to start a huge pirate guild, enable voice protocol and collectively cause mayhem in all those sleepy harbours...

Pirates of the Burning Sea might be your taste. I'm not in for MMO thing really, never so if you have to pay a fee to play.

Give me my Sea Dogs, Cutthroats, Port Royal any time and I'm content.
