I think you need to take over mainland greece to access siege weapons as the romani. Download the recruitment viewer and check it out. Also weclome to the forums.
As mentioned above, you can access to siege weapons outside Italia before Marian reform i think.
I don't think that getting siege weapons outside of Italia works. You are suppposed to, but you need a factional MIC to get them and you can't build those outside of Italy.
In order to get siege weapons as the Romani, wait for the Marian Reforms or bribe them from enemies.
Also, top tip, it's Ballistae.

IIRC: Ballistae
Romanarum - to be precise. In correspondance with the thread title that is, else ther“s the Romanae possibility as well.
Thanks to all for the quick response . Due to the high historical accuracy of this mod my first thinking about it was that i will have to wait until Marian reforms to get siege weapons ... i was not wrong ... It's very hard to assault a big city walls without those units ! ... there wasen't in those ancient times mercenary units specialiced in sieges ?? , i know that in the medieval age there was some mercenary armies specialiced in sieges with their own siege weapons ...
P.D: Yes you can call it ballistae , i just use the word in my own language , sorry . Im from Spain and the English it's not the best , sorry too for any gramatical fault !

He doesn't seem greedy, maybe he only wants one?

Don't worry about the grammar, ballistae is Latin for ballistas (i.e. more than one ballista).
Yeah, it looks like regional barracks (according to the recruitment viewer) do not produce seige weapons in greece, so (I think) you have to wait for the Marian reform.

I didn't get any siege artillery until Marian reforms upgraded my factional MICs.
When I did get the artillery, one of those scorpiones hit and killed an enemy Ptolemy general and kill him in the first volley. That was funny. What was even funnier was that my general got hit by friendly fire, through the scorpione, when trying to outflank an enemy Galatian swordmen unit, and got killed right when the cavalry charged home on the enemy's flanks. The scorpione was targeting the Galatian swordsmen at the time. That scorpione crew is elite, just got to get them to point at the enemy.
As for assaulting walls and cities without siege equipment, just try to starve them out and then wait for an enemy army to hit you in the back. That will initiate a field fight. Otherwise, use sappers or multiple rams to then outflank the forces in the city/town.

Siege weapons hate family members, simple as that. They always have and they always will.

*blows a sigh of relief*
I almost went into a small-scale fit when I couldn't find any ballistae listed under the units screen of the main EB webpage.
From this thread it seems that there's a way to get them.
How about scorpions? Are they there, and if not, what are
the reasons (eg. ahistorical, game balance, game implementation limitations)?
