I've been trying a few "big mods" (Darth Mod, Stainless Steel) lately and I find them mostly disappointing. It seems like for every good thing they add, there is also something I don't like.![]()

I don't know about perfect in the sense of having nothing you or I would dislike, but I find that the best mods for these games take a long time to perfect/release. An example for RTW would be Europa Barbarorum, which meets my criteria for a perfect RTW mod. EB2 isn't out, but looks like it will be even better. Broken Crescent for MTW2 looks great. I'm not sure if it's out yet, I stopped following it when I found out the first release wouldn't work for 1.3 or Kingdoms.
What are you looking for in a mod?

Omisan,
Its really about flavour right?! So what´s yours? I´ve tried Anno Domini 0.91 and liked that. Heiliges Römisches Reich but it kept crashing on me and a couple of others that didn´t do it for me either. LTC is good and stable but I´m currently playing DIV 5.0 and I think its very good. But as many I´m just passing time waiting for EB2.
If nothing helps, you could consider making your own mod, I am sure it would be perfect for you.

I basically want more settlements, better campaign map AI and reasonable diplomacy. Right now, Stainless Steel + Ultimate AI seems alright, but I hate all those custom soldiers models/skins which replace the better, sharper looking originals.
my smelly barbarous friend is right, the only perfect mod is the one you make yourself. and if it's just # settlements and skins, those are relatively easy.
Then just go with the Big Map mod + Ultimate AI. See if you like that one any better. It only changes the map and upgrades troops as the settlements get bigger.Originally Posted by Omisan
