Thread: Post Tactical Battle CTD -- Memory Leak?

Default Post Tactical Battle CTD -- Memory Leak?

    Hi all,
I've seen a couple of posts about this, but I don't recall seeing any comprehensive fix/resolution...
I keep getting CTD's after about an hour or two of playing and always after a battle....
I have 1G of RAM...is that the issue? Is there a memory leak?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as it is really frustrating to win an awesome heroic victory and then have the screen go black after the Battle Report screen and then CTD...

    Thanks in advance.

    T

An hour of playing with a gig of RAM should not cause severe memory leak. It hits lethally with 512 MB.

Have you checked the sticky RTW bugs thread? Detailed observations of the memory leak, especially by Rad Harvest can be found there, at the Colosseum.

Are you waiting 10 seconds before clicking on the tick to close the battle results scroll? I only close the scroll on the detailed listings part where it shows you each unit's kills and casualties. When I take some time to look at the detailed stats, and then close the scroll, I don't get any crashes for many many battles in a row. But then when I'm in a hurry and want to leave, I got a crash right after a siege.

    That's karma!

Hmmm. I've also had this a couple of times, but then I went to enable something in my system files that oversees RAM control etc, and until now, no CTD's.
