Lands to Conquer Gold

I'm not sure if this is the best place for this...

I downloaded LTC Gold and everything seemed to be working well (I use Steam). Well, after about three turns on the Spanish/Portugal/Moors Campaign, the screen mostly freezes (I can still hear sounds and my mouse still moves). It's so bad I can't even CTR-ALT-DEL.

I figure it's just a weird hiccup and start it up again. After a turn or two, same thing. This has now happened four times so I've given up. I can play other Kingdoms games fine as well as Vanilla (and other games as well) and I never had this kind of freezing problem before.

Is there anything I can do?

Edit: NM, looks like my M2TW installation got corrupted somehow as I had a regular game freeze up on me now. I'll just delete and reinstall.
