    Default Modding/Reskinning Campaign Map Fortifications

Just searched and checked both here at the Lab and Repository but I can find no info on modding the Fortifications on the Campaign Map ,, Yep the wooden forts & stockades right thru to the grand Castles & Citadels that appear ,, Would be nice if I could get the info required to make a start & with help create a set of new peices to add more realism to the original VI and the mods we play ,, Also wondering if they can be faction specific as well ,, cheers DTS

Hmmmm, have a hunt through the "Samurai" mod forum, they were working on making the castles "Japanese" in flavour. IIRC the models are textured using LBMs, but haven't tried it myself.

Hi again Mac ,, Yep I sure did hunt everywhere ,, I am surprised after nearly 5 or 6 years that this has never been mentioned or thought about ,, If possible it can change the face of the Campaign Map forever ,, The thread is called "Modelling" and is by Barocca , but it doesn't show how he created and ported in those new castles .. Earlier in the year he was generous enough to answer my querie on modding campaign map peices so im figuring/hoping fortifications are no different ,, Imagine expanding your empire in ATW with Assyrians and having Ziggurat styled fortifications appearing as you go ! or grand Egyptian flavoured ones perhaps with a pyramid of sorts as the capitol or grand citadel , not to mention the actual agents and generals ! Keep plugging away Macsen and I look forward to see how this develops and just how much is actually possible .

Ah, we are at slightly crossed purposes, I thought you meant the forts in the battle maps - as for the campaign map pieces I believe they are simply BUFs or BIFs like the army pieces (they have the same flag thing on them). But you only get one set of options for each level of castle (ie excluding the upgrades like +motte).

((((( .... But you only get one set of options for each level of castle (ie excluding the upgrades like +motte)..... )))))

Just a stab in the dark Macsen ... If its possible for a variety of agents from different factions to traverse the Campaign Map (( and in different poses/stances as well ))
Then it seems to a newbie like me that faction specific fortifications may be possible ,,
Perhaps its possible to add extra commands into the sequence so that the buf/bif called upon to appear on the campmap can be faction specific ?

... Please understand this is purely cosmetic and very unimportant overall > So don't drop everything your doing with ATW 2.5 & 3 ,, But its just my limited experience with code that got me to ask this question ,, Perhaps it may be worth a littlethought & a closer look ? when you need something different to ponder . cheers .
