    Question Little question regarding education

Greetings EBers/the chosen ones, I have a question

I'd really like to know if there is a certain way of getting young family members to study in an academy. My situation is I am Macedon and I have all of mainland greece at my disposal. The son of Alkyoneus, Persues, is very soon to come of age and I want him to become a great general.

My client ruler in Sparte (aged 30) has randomly begun his education which I am surprised by and would like to know just how beneficial this could be if I could get persues to study there.

In short, how can I get FMs to study?, and where?

    Cheers

You can put a family member in any city with an academy and he will gain ancillaries. If you're talking about the agoge, there are dialogue messages that tell you what to do when a FM comes of age.

As KH, I have a training program of 4 years in the Agoge and 2 years in the academy at Athens before receiving a posting. Governors go to their provinces of course and generals go to the front.

Do you have a Level 4 governement in Sparte (allied)? In this case you better do not place family members there and stick to the academy in Athens.

No I meant the client ruler (mercenary general?) is getting an education

Thanks for replies btw, so is it only certain cities that can provide training? and does there have to be another person to govern the city?

One thing that I didn't realise for a while was that you could drag-and-drop the ancillary characters from one FM to another. I use this to concentrate the "military" helpers on front-line generals, with "administrative" helpers on sedentary governers. You can use this technique (if you didn't know already) to give Perseus spear carriers, veteran officers, a surgeon, geographers and any other assistant that you think might help him conquer the world!

    .
I apply some house rules to transferring ancilliaries, not very hard ones and not always though. Only the father/father in law may transfer his ancilliaries to his son/son in law or vice versa. The king may transfer his to everybody, while only positive ones may be presented to him. Personal ancilliaries such as evil mother in law may not be transferred etc.
