It's all about the firmness of the dong on the international markets. I don't want it to soften up and lose in front of the basket of currencies.

Given that there is a small but real chance of the USA defaulting on its sovereign debt, thus undoing in a weekend the tireless work of John Adams in the Neds, it may be time to re-evaluate your dong holdings, or lack thereof.

Vietnam's dong may be small compared to our dollar, but it is thursting tirelessly upwards, while our dollar will go limp without serious stimulation. So I ask the Orgahs: Is a small but rising dong better or worse than a large but flaccid dollar?

Indeed, If it wasn't for the central bank in Uan Khing then the Dong would be a spent force.

    Just saying like.

There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

It's been a long time since I've had my dollar analyzed by Dave's dong.

A moment's thought will tell you that while the dollar seems quite big in purchasing power, due to inflation and the cost of living, in situ it is quite soft. Whereas the dong, while seeming small in value, swells when actually used as a hard currency, since the cost of goods and services is so low in Vietnam.

Therefore it would be safe to call the dollar a "shower" and the dong a "grower."

Ah, but remind yourself that if the dollar becomes soft and the world loses it's grip on the dollar, the salvadoran colon would ultimately become irreparable and so ruptured; no salvadoran could ever consider buying any more dongs.

Let alone the fact that fifty years ago, the dong-wielding soldiers pierced through the american ego as they [americans] could not handle them anymore. Now; it would be possible for a scenario that makes the vietnamese dong much bigger and wieldier that the soft dollar. Especially since the harder euro is still unvanquished as it's bigger rival.

Let alone the possibility that the state of the dollar could be split in this recent unfolding of events.

Now, onto math, right now I will proceed to calculate how many dongs can fit into a colon. Right now, the dollar can very easily grasp around 16000 dongs, right. So divide that number between 8.75, and you will come to the result that around 1828 dongs can fit into a single salvadoran colon.

Now, I recall that the Costa Rican colon is much bigger and stronger than the salvadoran one. So that will have to be another calculation.

Of all things I have learnt in 10 years at the Org, the Dong and the Colon rank amongst the most important.
