    Default A History of Nomads

Hello all! While playing EB i became fascinated with the nomadic peoples. something about them just captivated me right away. I am currently winding down a M/M campain with the sarumatae, and i found myself thinking how sad it is that the history of these people is so poorly documented. We know very little about them, aside from hellenic and greek scholars, who cannot be entirely trusted as sources. I was wondering, if there were any first-hand material about these people, true sarmatian records. If anyone has some, I would be truly happy to be pointed to it.

The Saka reform works: it gives a nice building marker and a bulky description.

the thing with nomadic ppl is that they dont write a lot, in fact they write virtually nothing. they dont need books or lettres or whatever since they live a live on the move. even if they had written something were would one store it? they didn't have movable libraries, and who needs written records to live out on the steppes? only when nomads created empires comprising sedentary components some sources will appear, and then mostly in another language.

so first-hand historical sources are sadly enough limited.
