    Default Installing multiple copies

    Greetings!

I'm having difficulty installing more than one copy of MTW. I wish to play several mods (HTW & PMTW) as well as the original MTWVI. First install is fine, the 2nd attempt gets me: "are you sure you want to UNINSTALL MTW?"

So, do I make a clean install the first time, and just COPY the whole file, rename, and slip the mod into the copied file?

    Thanks,

    Lambere

    Hello Lambere,

Just install one copy and patch that (you've done that). Then use Windows copy and paste to make copies of that whole install, you can rename those new to say HTW and PMTW and install the mod there.

You can do the same for VI/MTW first.
-Install and patch MTW, make a Windows copy of that whole directory and call the copy Vanilla MTW.
-Install VI in the original MTW.

    Hope this explains?

Thank you for what you posted to Lambere. I'm sure I can use it too. I'm planning to put in a mod or two to my games, and I sure could use your directions aplenty. Keep on doin' your good work, baby. More power to you.

Me I installed vanilla M2TW in a drive (Drive G) but installed M2TW in a different drive (Drive E--it was in a different hard disc too) when I put in my M2TW-Kingdoms. Maybe it wasn't necessary, but that was what I did--to be on the safe side.

I'm such a mod-junky I keep a copy of fully-patched MTW:VI in a spare directory, with no save games etc, and DON'T PLAY IT, just so I have a quick, easily accessible template to copy across to a new directory for each new mod. I must have half a dozen different versions now (HTW, Nap TW, Samurai, PMTW, Ancient (twice - one to test installs ), XL, BKB, American TW) okay, nine mods, plus vanilla, plus my 'spare'
