I wheeled my general away from the other cav to my cav which attacked their cav with mine + general. Seizing the initiative i engaged with infantry/ missile to their main force and flanked with victorius cav. Pretty much the only way I think.
Very much the same. The main thing is to get your general back as fast as possible. Battle is equal, so the loss of the leader almost always means defeat.
The rest is nothing special. Wide variety of units (chariots, elephants, cavalry, phalanx, archers) makes this paper-rock-scissors type of battle. If you use all your units against appropriate enemy units, you win.
My usual way: lure enemy's cavalry into phalanx, send elephants to cut a way into Egyptian lines, part of my cavalry- send against archers, another part of cavalry- chase away Egyptian chariots. After that, march in a thin line with phalanx and finish off wat is left. Seleucid missile troops are not very useful in this battle. I use them only to make AI focus it's attention on some spot, while cavalry flanks them.

The Egyptian has a very balanced force, but Pharos' bowmen will have to be taken care of early on or else they will cause massive damage to your infantry, not to mention what they'll do to your elephants.
This is an old thread but whatever. There is one way of doing it, it may be costly but it usually ends as a victory. Try the corner Phalanx (Park all your Phalanx on the corner of the map). Use your cavarly to get rid of the Pharoah Bowmen, for obvious reasons of course. Now wait for 10-20 minutes and you will have a line of dead golden troops. HEROIC VICTORY MY FRIEND!
