Arn – The Knight Templar

Anybody heard of it or seen it. It's a movie and I found it when I was wiki-surfing. Just the name intrigues me.

I saw the trailer yesterday when i went out to see another movie. It looked promising.

The Movie part 1 is good enough although the director focuses more on the love story between Arn and his beloved Cecilia than the author Jan Guillou did in this epic triology set in 1150ad. The final part of the movie will be released in a year, I think.
The books however are really readable. First time I read them all in just one week, I was totally intrigued. The first book covers Arn´s upbringing, love to Cecilia, his time in a monestary until he sets off to the Holy Land. Book two covers his 20 year stay there and his envolvement in the Order as a Knight Templar, encounters and relations with Salah al-Din etc. The third covers his return to Sweden and Cecilia and a war against our nations mortal enemy Denmark and the founding of the kingdom of Sweden. Read it, its worth every penny.
