    I had a Xanthippos (General not FM) sitting in Atiqa around the 250s even though I (Rome) was not war with Karthago until 242 BC.

    An interesting thing happened to me once:

    I was playing as the Ptolemaioi and was at war with Carthage. At one point an army came with two family members named Xanthippos with the same portrait, age, command, management and influence but only one of them had the spartan bodyguard.
