    Default semi-rebelling?

so in my AAR, i bribed a town (with a governor) and sensing there would be trouble, i cheated a bit and used the process_cq cheat to establish a reasonable level of happiness. when i pressed "end turn", my governor who i bribed, was killed, and the turn after, my garrison was kicked out, but the town was still mine(didnt turn rebel). i was going to put another governor into the town, but i was afraid he would die too. so i deleted the level 3 government which was there and cheated again and put a level 4 government there. a client ruler spawned, and entered the ruler. so all i ask is whats with level 3 governments? why did it kill my governor and kick out the garrison, but was still under my ownership?

I seem to have heard of this before, over a year ago iirc. From memory it was something to do with the script and rebel family members. I suspect a search of the historical forums from around mid to late '06 might turn up something.

    It's your punishment for cheating.
The AI has become so smart that it can even detect cheating and kills your general as payback, because it can't cheat!

It's something in the script, bribing is not cheating but bribed generals are more often than not killed off before the next turn.

And garrissons are often forced out, no riot took place and the populance seems happy. This even happened to me in vanilla
