    Default I-Bulletin

This skin is a good one, but you know what's so annoying about it? There's just one aspect that is truly one that must be taken care of: those smilies in front of threads when no icon has been selected upon thread creation. If you choose 'no icon' would you not expect to see NO ICON? It is inconsistent, but that's not necessarily the main complaint..... it just, it looks too happy! If an icon is to be there when the thread is created and 'no icon' is chosen, then I say let it be a neutral icon or if possible no icon.

Please take care of it. Hmmm, perhaps it is time I should use my remote mind control power

That's the problem in every skin, not just I-Bulletin...

    Oh really, mister know-it-all?

Well, it isn't a problem with the RTW skin as far as I saw, so how can it be a problem with all the skins?

I don't see a problem with it, if you think the icon is too happy, select another one, the note(I mean the one to the right of no icon) for example seems rather neutral to me.
Otherwise I'd say it's an absolutely minor detail and the problem is entirely on your side.

    Hello,

Nearly every skin uses these posticons. They are in use since about 2000, the is the default icon since then.

Who else uses those i-bulletin skins and wants that changed?

Can't you use the RTW skin then?

Must there be a default icon (when no icon is selected)? If so, I agree with Husar that 'the note' (the one I picked for this post) would seem more neutral.

I'm all for observing tradition, and to the 8 years we've used , but I must admit it does look a little incongruous in the backroom, for example, when announcing someone's death, to have a smiley icon next to the title, if the poster has selected 'no icon'.

I use "The Guild" skin and the smiley is also the default there. I wouldn't mind seeing the default be either (1) nothing or (2) the note. It's not a big issue for me, but I do agree that the smiley looks a bit strange.

Everything has cons and pros. Changing the default to none, which is of course possible, makes an irregular listing in the topicview.

A first thing to try (only looked at it brieflyyears ago, but failed to find) is to change none text to default and display the content. We can look per skin what to display, nothing, something neutral or stay put.

    Question Re: I-Bulletin

Step one is done, what's next?

The SwordDojo skin will remain what it was. Other skins can be changed when several users support a change.

Hey Tosa. I was wondering, what did you exactly do with step 1? Could you elaborate?

What I think is that all skins must have no icon when the poster wants it or just give it a neutral one where the note is indeed appropriate.

    Hello Bijo,

One may see when hitting the reply button.

In the old situation, it said No Icon. Now the actual picture is displayed and the ALT text reads Default Icon (Don't know Swedish or Norsk, and only updated the other languages to the best of my knowledge).

Any icon could now simply be inserted, including a blanco (would better make a small update in that case: delete the display of nothing and make the ALT tag a permanent string. Is easy since where and what are now known).
