Anyone else finding it impossible to fight in forests? Making out your units and enemy units is a lot harder than it was in shogun. maybe they need to ease back on the amount of foliage in the woods, cos now i find that im moving my troops away from the forest even if i need the advantage against cavalry or archers. much easier to fight if you can see whats going on!

    Ive seen this complaints before.

    Imagine this:
You are actually a real general in MTW. You control 10 units (less or more its your choice). The enemy setup in a forest so a forest fight is unavoidable. You send in your men, you cant see them all very good anymore. Why you ask???? hmm in a forest there are a lot of trees. And when they are in front of you, you cant see thru them if you arent superman.

Thats why its harder to fight in the forest.

A thing that I agree with is that its to hard to click on your troops in the forest.
Then I figured out that I could double click in the flags in the bottom. Or you can hold the alt-button then click on your unit.

i find it the hardest to align my troops with all the trees around.

In general, I don't defend in the forest, unless the enemy is all cavs or archers.

I said that the enemy was in the forest and that you had to attack. I dont like fighting in forest but a man got to do what a man got to do.

We really need a key to toggle off some percantage of the foliage, if not in a patch, definately in the expansion.

It's often nearly impossible to use the forests, and I didn't really have this problem in shogun.

I like it the way it is. It SHOULD be harder to fight/see/organise troops in a forest.

    IMHO

I think when you have a unit in the forest the trees should become transparent.

In online play, all my men ended up in the forests and once the fur began to fly and men started running in all directions either pursuing routers, or routing themselves, it became almost impossible to figure out who was where. I was ROTFLMAO by the end of the battle. Never have I felt more like an actual general then when I was completly lost in the woods!

In the old Sid Meiers Gettysburg they had an option which would lower the number of trees in forested areas so you could better see your troops. A nice option would be appreciated in the next Total War game or the Add-on.

yea wouldnt it be sweet if your men had to hack down the trees and built siege equipment before they attacked a castle.
