what sort of desert causes fatigue penanlties due to armour? is it rock desert (as in crusading territory) or just sand desert (i.e. syria, arabia etc).

also, does arid ground (as in spain or italy) count?

cheers

This is a very good question...

It's been a long time since I've gone over the fine details of desert fatigue...

Hopefully someone here can clarify...

I can't locate the old post where I read this info, but IIRC: "desert" means desert, and all bonuses/penalties apply to rock or sand; but, "arid ground" isn't "desert", and no penalties or bonuses apply (I'm thinking of camels, here, which do incur a penalty in temperate or lush terrain). Hope this helps - wish I could point to the source post . . . .

so what are we saying here...

If the word "desert" appears in the description of the geography, all "desert" penalties will be applied? The "type" of desert is irrelevant?

Thanks...

That's the way I remember it - the type of desert doesn't matter, which is also consistent with my experience. And isn't Morroco "famous" for Berber camels? Doesn't make much sense if "rocky" desert doesn't count as desert, I'm thinking.
