I use beserkers in a similar way to Charge, using them as flankers rather than frontline troops. Their morale penalty to their foes can also be useful in dealing with troops which just need an extra push to start wavering.
As Charge has said, they are vulnerable to missiles, so I stock up a couple of fast cavalry units to deal with such units in a hit and run attack if and when I encounter them. I also use a couple of normal infantry units to protect the beserker's flanks while they fight - when in their beserk mode they cannot be commanded to stop hunting for their current target and turn around to deal with another attacker.Might I request that thread bumping is avoided.
