On a slightly more positive and helpful note:

    1) Build a Keep, church and chapter house in a province.

    2) Train a crusade (takes 4 turns)

    3) Drop the crusade on the province to attack.

    4) Pay his holiness, the bald one, Mr Pope.

    5) Add some of your troops to the crusade (as you would merge two armies)

    6) Move the crusade turn by turn to your target, or simply drop it onto the target again to get it to find its own way.

BTW, if the crusade takes "too long" to reach it's target, it starts to atrophy...

Q: How long is "too long"? If you're English and the Pope calls for a crusade against Egypt, can you walk all the way through France, Germany, Turkey?

Q: If the Pope calls for a crusade, what are the ramifications of obeying or ignoring him?

(Sigh, the manual left SO MUCH stuff out.)

    Thanks,

Keep it moving, staying in the same place for more than 2 turns is a bad idea.

Pope's crusade are free, the pope will like you more. Feel free to ignore him.
