a lot of lands weren't conquered as a whole anyway. asia minor was a battle field for quite a long time. only fully conquered by the time of trajan. iberia was only fully conquered under august, etc etc. just look up an atlas and match the dates

Indeed, it's time for you to send your armies to the far regions of North Africa and Iberia to simulate the latter stages of the Punic Wars. In addition, around 230BC Rome began serious occupation of Illyria and, subsequently, Greece (Macedonia) proper a couple decades later. While Carthage itself wasn't taken until 146BC, it's typically quite easy for you as the Romani to gain a strong foothold in North Africa much earlier. Once you're on the continent, pushing southeast as far as Lepki and as far west as Ippone and even Sala is relatively easy -- although you may have real difficulty hanging on to the far western provinces as unrest is quite common among the populace.

If an attempt at historical expansion is your thing, do what you can to keep the Gauls off your back for the time being...
