Thread: Some things

Is there any way to increase the size of the units and increase the spaces for units in an army? I wanted to increase the size of Spearmen units to 400 or something. The battles just aren't epic enough for me.

    200 is maximum.

I'm not sure if you've tried this already but go to 'Options' before you start a campaign, then go to one of the subtitles and change 'Unit Size to the largest size possible. They take 2 years to create though rather than 1, so you get bigger armies but a longer time to make them.

Oh yeah, I already know about that. I mean in the game files, i.e. you can set whatever ending date you like as an example, is there a way of increasing the unit sizes?

If you're really desperate for larger units and don't care much about game balance you can adjust the smaller size infantry units of 120 and the cavalry units which are all at 20 or 80 to 200 as well. To do this you'll need the gnome editor. Open crusader_unit_prod11.txt with the editor and change all of column 8 to "100" and all of column 21, except mounts (horses and the camel), ships and agents, to "YES".

Do you have a download link for this Gnome Editor? I have searched for it but I can't find it anywhere.

There's only one thing wrong. The battle's wont load. I did everything you said, I put the units in 200, except for the artillery crews, and I put YES in every box except for the cavalry troops.

    EDIT:

Ah right I think I have found the problem, the units are too large. When I reduced them all to 100, the game worked perfectly. But, can't I up it a bit, to say 150 or 200 minimum? I tried this but it keeps crashing, doesn't the game support 400 strong units?
