Thread: Weapon Type: Cannot be Upgraded?

Default Weapon Type: Cannot be Upgraded?

I'm playing as Carthage and I noticed that some units (like the Libyan Heavy Spearmen, Iberian Assault Infantry and Elite African Infantry) have "weapon type: Cannot be upgraded".

Is there any way to change this so I can upgrade them?

Well you could by changing the relevant parts of the EDU. But they're as they are in order for one clever unit-reform trick to work...

Here is a graph to illustrate the point."

    Eh?

I've never encountered this attribute before.

Specifically, the weapon type in the EDU is "siege" instead of the usual "simple" or "blade" (which are the types the EB blacksmiths give bonuses to). The trick used to do the reform thing is somewhat arcane, but apparently involves some form of invisible penalty to the "siege" weapon type which keeps the units from being built until the reform building negates it.

    Ah, so.
