Height advantage in Custom Battles

I've tried the search function, but haven't found what I was looking for... so...

Is it possible to set up a custom battle in which the computer is given the height advantage, not the player?

Ok, I admit I haven't tried every single battlemap yet, but in all the ones I have tried where it is hilly, no matter who I set as attacker/defender, I am always given the height advantage. I would love to practice attacking an army camping up a hill, but just can't work out how to set it up.

Also, has anyone successfully created a custom map yet? I see there's a command that's supposed to activate the battle map editor but I can't get it working myself (I've got all the official patches on but no custom mods... maybe only works with earlier version?)

I just had a thought as I was typing... there must be a file that tells the game where on the map to deploy each army... maybe it could get reversed and saved under a different name - just need to work out what file it is... what do you reckon?

Any help, thoughts and comments would be appreciated.

Aha, finally worked it out... I forgot the "s" at the end of "features" so Battle Editor wasn't showing. Got my "cfg" file correctly updated now, so I can make as many hilly maps as I want... well, just as soon as I work out how to use it.

I'm still fairly surprised at the scarcety of custom maps in circulation - I remember in VI we were tripping over custom map-packs.
