“The majestic equality of the laws prohibits the rich and the poor alike from sleeping under bridges, begging in the streets and stealing bread.” - Anatole France
"The law is like a spider’s web. The small are caught, and the great tear it up.” - Anacharsis
In RTW it's mainly phalanxes.
In M2TW it's usually longbow or crossbow type units (with armour upgrades so they can also act as infantry) or some sort of pike unit.
"From the limited play that I achieve on RTW, it would have to be Hastati followed closely by Principes. I generally haven't played with another faction, but spearman always seem to be a good choice. Hastati/Principes are the bread and butter of the early roman legions and since I try to fight battles the traditional Roman way, the Hastati suffer the most casualties engaging the enemy first. (That is unless I get flanked)![]()
Don't play the other TW series"
"The secret of all victory lies in the organization of the non-obvious." - Marcus Aurelius
"Interdum feror cupidine partium magnarum Europae vincendarum"
Sometimes I get this urge to conquer large parts of Europe.

"Am I not destroying my enemies when I make friends of them?"

Four stage strategy from Yes, Minister:
Stage one we say nothing is going to happen.
Stage two, we say something may be about to happen, but we should do nothing about it.
Stage three, we say that maybe we should do something about it, but there's nothing we can do.
Stage four, we say maybe there was something we could have done, but it's too late now.
My longest RTW campaign was with Egypt/Scythia, so it might have been Desert Cavalry/Horse Archers.
Gallowglasses on MTW. Or um, the spearmen at the start, I can't remember the name.
STW: Yari Samurai
As the Poles, you can't go wrong with... Spears!(the most current of course)
As the Turks , I can't go wrong with HAs/ Turcoman Horse.
haven't played any other TW other than vanilla MTW(which I am modding currently)
The following statement is true. The previous statement is false.
