interesting I thought about how cool it would be to play the aedui and start in galatia but I did not know how to mod it so that I could just start outside of galatia. could you tell me how you can mod the files so that I could possible start my fam members in galatia and just siege it.

What would be really cool you guys is to try and start "migration" campaigns in as few turns as possible (cheat by moving diplomats to other cities - buying them, killing off your FM's, bribing local generals in your new places, paying to get a basic city or two well stocked with buildings, and then finally giving away your other provinces or letting them rebel or be captured). THEN, upload the save games to some site where others could download them - only 1.0 campaigns maybe to keep it simple.

Having some where the KH starts off in Bosphoros or in Syracuse or in Massilia, or the Arverni in Galatia, or other such things would be really cool.

We could have a "migration" save game thread stuck for folks to start new campaigns off in (in 270 or 265 or whenever is the earliest these things can be accomplished in).

hm..... not a bad idea.... maybe if this idea hasnt been done already by the time i finish my AAR, ill try this.....
quite simple, really, at least for some faction, like the KH and arverni.... take all FMs and existing forces, put them into one army, move it to galatia using the "move_character" cheat, bribe Galatia, then start anew.....

I actually did this as Aedui in my last campaign in 0.8x, though part of the reason for my migration was of necessity rather than pure "coolness". The greedy Romans, the unwashed Sweboz and the Lusotanian traitors were trying to gangbang me into submission, and I decided to try my luck elsewhere. Galatia was the obvious choice.

It's just a little disappointing that you don't get true Galatian units. That would've made it a more "genuine" experience, I think. (I know the reason for this and it is completely understandable. I still wish I could have them though...)

    What is the reason?

Yeah I know about this and I am cool with that I know that there is the shared model issue. I can stick with galatian shortswordsmen and the basic celtic units -slingers, archers, Celtic Spearman, levy spearmen and southern gallis swordsmen.

TomO- the reson is that those units are on shared models, so for example Galatian wild man is a Celtic Naked Fanatic (Gaestoe..or sumfin)
Galatian elite spearman is Arverni's Arjos and so on.

Plus I can always send some naked fanatics from Singidunum.

Yeah. Kluddolon (the Galatian shortswordsmen) are actually my favourite unit, along with kluddobro and bagaudas. There's something about them that invokes my love, but I can't really put my finger on it.

Gaesatae and Uirodusios are obviously favourites too.

    (Gaestoe..or sumfin)
    It's Gaesatae.

Cool man. I´ve never managed this myself, but actually the AI managed it in my Koinon Hellenon campaign. In 269 BC Galatia revolted from Pontos to Arverni, and since I though it would be fun with Celts in Anatolia and becasue I thought I´d might need a buffer against the Grey and Yellow Death I decided to aid the Arverni in Galatia as much as I could. I wasn´t going to take it anyway, as I was strictly only taking city´s required for the victory conditions. The Galatians remained pretty silent for a long time, but around 220 BC all the Arverni regions back in Europe had been eaten up by Aedui, Sweboz and Romani, and they completely exploded in Anatolia. In just a couple of years they took Mazaka, Ani-Kamah, Karkathiokerta and Edesssa, and soon they had become the dominant power in Asia. Incredibly they remained my faithful ally for the entire campaign.
Though I´ve never seen the Celts controll Thracia nor Singidunum, it´ll be fun to see how you manage it.

I don't come here a lot any more. You know why? Because you suck. That's right, I'm talking to you. Your annoying attitude, bad grammar, illogical arguments, false beliefs and pathetic attempts at humour have driven me and many other nice people from this forum. You should feel ashamed. Report here at once to recieve your punishment. Scumbag.

I also don't know how to mod file, but what I did is pretty easy it requires only little bit of patience. In the first turn I have moved my FM and Captains by using character_reset console comand to gain all the movement point again after losing them by movement it's a step by step procedure. Start campaign for Arverni or Aedui hit the key just under ESC on your key board (°) then you can give console comand and type in character_reset "name" and hit eneter by this way you will refresh all the movement points and move the unit again and you have to repeat it again and again till you reach your destination.

Back to the character_reset command. If you have arverni FM with name for example Aneirin oi Lugos, his internal name is "Aneirin arvernioiLugos" So what you have to type in is... character_reset "Aneirin arvernioiLugos"

I think that for the Aedui characters their internal names are for example if they are named Cardoc ... "Cardoc ofaedu" and so on. You can find all the internal names in descr strat.txt file in EB/World/Maps"Campaign/imperial_campaign

BTW: really like your idea Teleklos about posting a migrations with save game. It would be really interesting to post in at the point where the old provinces are lost - ideal would be if they were conquered by others rather then given away by diplomat, because I have heared that AI doesn't know how to handle recruitment in settlment which are given to them through diplomacy.

I might as well point you to a wormhole shortcut: the console command move_character "name" x,y teleports the selected character with his army to the coordinates x,y. You can use the console command show_cursorstat to show the coordinates of the square under the cursor.
