Short time lapse video of the restoration of the Rolls Royce Armoured Car 'Sliabh na mBan'. This historic car was part of Gen Michael Collins' convoy at the Beal na Blath ambush where he was mortally wounded in 1922. The most iconic car in Irish history, Michael Collin's 'Sliabh na mBan' is to travel to Britain next month to take part in àn exhibition.

The Rolls Royce armoured car which accompanied Collins when he was shot dead is only one of two such vehicles surviving worldwide.

The other is at the Tank Museum at Bovington in Surrey which claims to have the world's best display of moving armoured vehicles in the world.

Now The Irish car is to join it for the frist time at à Tankfest display in late June.

Last year Queen Elizabeth arrived at Tankfest standing on Britain's Rolls.

'Sliabh na mMban' was lovingly restored in Cavalry workshops at the Curragh.

Some 13 Rolls Royce armoured cars served in Irish Army squadrons until 1947.

They had been handed over by Britain in 1921 after the Anglo Irish Treaty was signed.
