    Default Improperly Written Installer

I just got M2TW Gold and already I have a big problem. Somebody wasn't thinking straight when they wrote the installer because it will not give me the choice of install locations, looking as it does only at my C drive which doesn't have enough free space and totally ignoring the F drive where there is plenty of room. I tried manually copying the files straight off the install disks but the whole thing came off looking like it was done sideways; in other words, it doesn't resemble a proper Total War install. Is there a workaround for this poorly written installer? I've already moved a number of programs off the C drive and I don't know that I can move many more; besides, I need to keep enough space free on C for other purposes. Don't you just hate lazily written software, including(especially in this case)installers? Please help, somebody, if you can. I don't want to have to return this game, as it already is a replacement for something else I just returned.

Acording to posters at TWcenter once you have enough free space at your C drive you get the option to install on an other hard drive.

you would think so, but as some more web research revealed, it only lets you do so AFTER making sure you have min. 7.5 GB free disk space on C: . Then it generously lets you chose another partition to install to.

I don't think they look at it as badly written. I read your post on TWcenter and I'm pretty sure you read my response. I really don't think CA or SEGA cares what we, the buying public, think about such things by their silence on the matter.

Default Thanks Irishron2004 and Monsieur Alphonse

Gentlemen, thanks for your replies. After I posted here I checked out TW Center and saw that I wasn't the only one with that dilemma. I ended up finding enough other things to move out of my C drive to give myself the required minimum hard drive space for the M2TW Gold installation. The process then moved along to the point where I was allowed, finally, to redirect the installation to the drive that had room for it. After that I started the game and played a couple of custom battles and for now all appears to be well. One little detail, though, - I didn't post at TW Center, although I read everything that other folks posted. In fact, I have yet to post at those forums. Meanwhile, I wonder what we who shell out the money for these games can do to make these companies care about the software they write and its likely effect on potential and actual users. After all, they don't give these games away. Fair is fair, or so I've been led to believe.
