    Default Options

When I got Kingdoms, I also got a free download of Gold Edition, which was very nice. When I play, I crank all the options up to the max, but I have to keep doing it every time I play. Whenever I open the program, all the settings-- resolution, unit size, etc.-- have been reset to default.
Also, when I tried fiddling with the troop stats in troopstats.txt, all stats were still at vanilla values. Could this be related?

This is Gold Edition 1.00, downloaded, running on Windows XP. Any help would be appreciated.

I have never heard of this bug, but you could try upgrading to 1.02. Or did the Gold edition already have that?

    Now I'm confused myself..
The purpose of a fish trap is to catch fish, and when the fish are caught, the trap is forgotten. The purpose of a rabbit snare is to catch rabbits. When the rabbits are caught, the snare is forgotten. The purpose of words is to convey ideas. When the ideas are grasped, the words are forgotten. Where can I find a man who has forgotten words? He is the one I would like to talk to.

Very weird. Never seen anything like this before.

btw, iirc this version would indeed say '1.00' but in fact have 1.02 stats etc. There's people with experience on 'era's version' that will know the answer.
