I was wondering if the pictures accompanying general messages on the strategic map (such as revolts, sieges, heirs, etc) are available somewhere? Maybe even in the Shogun map? (I searched a bit, but didn't find anything yet)

Yes they are, they are BIF and you need one of RSW's BIFReaders to open, edit and export them. Many pictures are in the campmap folder, some are TGA. This version should do: http://www.mizus.com/Tools/Files/readbif22b.zip
