Thread: Merging Armies CTD

    Default Merging Armies CTD

Hello, I have encountered a CTD caused by the Ptolemy armies merging in Anatolia. I tried with/without enabling script. I am using all the fixes available.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if that's the real cause... But you can try to move_character one of them somewhere and see what happens, or move_character one of your units over, attack and auto_win to make them retreat. If it doesn't help, please see the "how to ask for help" thread.

As far as I observe AI movements using toggle_fow, crash happens when the armies are merging(screen goes black and CTD). I had encountered this CTD once and it was again Ptolemy armies in Anatolia. I got rid of it by loading a save game which I created during that AI turn, after the Ptolemy AI movements.
BTW I tried move_character command to move the Ptolemy family member. I wrote his name but the name was not recognized. Can't I move the AI generals by command?

I have discovered that the merging army has a Spartan Hoplite unit with peasant picture. I wanted to engage battle myself and got an error message:

    Failed to find texture 'eb/data/models_unit/textures/EBUNIT/SPW_GREEK_SPARTAN_HOPLITE_GREEK.TGA'
Then I tried auto-resolve and they retreated to a city and caused a CTD.

If they got a spartan unit in a Ptoly army it's likely some corruption, sorry, as there is no way they can get it by following the rules we set. Or you might have tried to do some modding with unintended consequences, perhaps?

First, thanks for your attention, bovi.
And no, I did not do any modding work.
Unfortunately, the problem is not caused by just Spartan Hoplites. After I destroyed the battalion of buggy hoplites, I encountered another CTD after few turns, again in Anatolia by merging armies. This time the army does not contain any weird unit, just Ptolemaic and mercenary ones. I engaged them and they retreated to Ankyra and guess what..CTD

Did you install the disaster fix prior to starting your campaign? If not, do that now and start a new one. Your campaign is probably screwed.
