Thread: Enemies are still allies!

    Exclamation Enemies are still allies!

In this game (RTW1.5, Julii, Very Hard/Very Hard) the Scpii were allied with me from the start of the the Civil War. Just as I was moving on my fiftieth city, the Scpii starting besieging my cities.

However the diplomacy tab showed us still allied. This lead to me being unable to attack Scpii forces. I was told I did not have enough popular support - despite Rome having being been conquered long ago.

Fortunately, I discovered an army I'd forgotten in Byzantium. I lifted it over to Nicomedia and took it before Scpii had taken any of my citites.

Just out of interest, was there a file I could have edited to set the Scpii to enemy?

    Thanks.

If i recall correctly, this is a bug from which there is no cure. You're current game is permanently broken and all you can do is sit in the corner, cry, and then start a new game.

Or, if you have a saved game from before this occured, load it up and attack the scipii before they attack you.

Nicomedia was my fiftieth province - so I'd won.

    I couldn't attack the Scpii.

yeah thast what the person is saying, its a bug which has occurred at some point stopping you attacking and there is nothing that can be done other than load a saved game from before when your current game went buggy.

Why not use your diplomat and talk to the scipii.
Then cancel the alliance and you should be able to attack.

There was no cancel option available.

Sadly the civil war bug is currently impossible to get out of once you're in it. You can't cancel treaties or attack - you only can be attacked by your foes. This forces you to be eternally on the defensive, not able to make any pushes back.
