Thread: ~REPLAY BUG?~

    Default ~REPLAY BUG?~

i saved a battle replay for the first time, hoping to review my strategies as well as the ai's. also, i thought maybe it would be entertaining to see how i kicked the greeks right into the sea. unfortunately, after playing it twice, i keep getting different results in battle. both times it ended as unresolved (i thought it was supposed to be "draw") and rather early. i had the time limit disabled, but it seems to be enabled for the replay. is there some kind of fix for this? this probably isn't even EB related. i saw someone posting in a M2TW thread about the same issue. any help would be appreciated. i'd upload the file, but i can't seem to find my way around this website to do it.

Sorry, no idea, I've never even saved a replay. But I'm fairly confident that this is an RTW thing, not EB. Perhaps you could change the setting in preferences.txt before running the replay?

Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.

i see nothing in preferences.txt (either one) that references replays. btw, why are there two of these files anyway?

I was talking about the unlimited time setting, not something for replays.

Battle replays actually took count of early unit settings and location. Then it runs on it's own AI will.

That's why the file size is small.

really? that makes me feel kind of dumb. i actually got one to replay pretty much the same. my troops maneuvered the same and everything throughout. same battle stats and everything. so i guess i'm as smart as the ai in this game, which isn't saying much. i take that back. the ai are decent at battle maneuvers but can't pick an army worth a sh#t. i'm getting kind of tired of custom battles since the computer always picks the most expensive units, while i pick moderately priced units that have a high stat or two i'm looking for. i end up having on average about 25-40% more units (and 30-50% more men) than them and i gang up on their big bad heavy infantry. shortly after they'll rout worried about my superior numbers and their exposed flanks.
