Default EB early and late mods

I've some talk here and there about ideas that the Team had about making a version of EB set in a later period, possibly during the Roman Civil wars. Others have voiced wishes for a classical era EB. I know that these concepts were either cancelled or delayed; but what were the ideas that the Team had for these sub-mods? Faction lists, map changes, etc.? I'm curious to know what a mod set in these eras would look like if the incredible EB Team set its mind to these.

Hmmm... A Classical era Europa Barbarorum.. I suppose we would have to take the Romans and Greeks out then eh?

(Hint: There is sarcasm somewhere in this post. Can you identify it?

Personally I would like to see the game beginning at about 110 bc with the romans fighting against Jugurtha and a strong pontic kingdom waiting to be led by a king mithridates - but this time all the way down to the satrapia of latium!

I think a late periode mod would be easyer because you do not have to add content but mainly delete it.

For example when you want to start a Civil War erea sub-mod, you must

    - Delete Karthago, Makedonia, Lusotanns(?), Baktria(?) and KH.
    - Change province ownership for all other factions
    - Change starting armies, characters and city buildings

    That's basicaly it.

To make a game of fun you need to do a few things more:

    1. The Romans need one or more Civil War(s). To do so you either need emerging factions and BI, or set up different szenarios with the needed number of Roman factions. In any case you'll have to copy all stuff Roman to one or more of the factions you have deleted.

    2. You'll certainly have to change the season script to 6 or 12 turns per year.

6 or 12 turns per year is too much... 4 would be more than enough.

Depends on what you are going for.

I was thinking of smaller scenarios like "Marivs/Cinna VS Svlla" with 2 Roman factions at war with each other and both also at war with Pontus. That can be set to Cinna, Sulla or Mithradates must be kept alive to have the respective faction win (works at least with the ALX.exe) and should therefore be limited in years to the livespan of these characters. In this case a higher number of turns per year is needed.
