I got an immediate CTD after downloading your savegame so I couldn't test it. However I doubt that there is a cure for this. Simply don't build forts near one of those five settlements (Eburonum, Carrodunum, Iuvavoaeta, Seliun-Pilis or Gintaras-Ostan). The defending roving generals are repositioned at the start of the Eleutheroi turn. If they have entered a regular settlement the script detects that and will not reposition the guy, since that will cause a CTD. Forts are a different matter AFAIK, and I don't think we can write code that detects that they are inside a fort, and even though I haven't managed to create the situation in your game, with a defender inside a fort, I can imagine that the reposition command on a character in a fort will cause the same sort of CTD that happens when it acts on a character inside a settlement.

Could different (vanilla) language games the reason (in general)? Or are the saves 100% saves to exchange?

Yes, it seems that the fort is the key. My only hope is to try to win, but I dont think I can win this even with all the mercs possible to recruit. My army is build to win a field battle. Without useful cavalry its impossible. (all the gold chevrons)

Solved the problem with auto_win attacker. The enemy general is dead, the fort gone and the turns seem to go.
