Hello! I have started to play RTW three years ago and EB since 2007 summer . I appreciate your work very much. I don't speak English every day so I appologise for my mistakes. I want to tell you about two problems in EB. 1)When I want to conquire Arabia I sent three spies to find Dumatha on the field where I supposed to find this town (at the intersection of two lines Gerrha - Pselkis and Carna - Hierosolyma) but the town missed. Instead the town I found an Eleuteroy army. I sent my army and I won the battle but Dumatha didn't appear. Is Dumatha a secret town or the town has another location? My spies couldn't find Dumatha on the teritory of Arabia.2)When I select CUSTOM BATTLE I can't find specific units (for example triarii, principes, hastatii for Romans; horse archers for Sauromate; elephants , etc). I don't understand why because in the former version of EB these units was able to select.Thank you!

The province of Arabia doesn't exist in EB1.0, it's the same province as the Sahara (called Erebos? hell)
I thought it was to reflect the impossibility to conquer desert regions. The capital of the province lies deep in the southwest of the Sahara and can't be reached.

For custom battles there has to be some EDU-swapping or so, but others can answer that better.

Quirinus: nah, it's right in the corner, but your armies, Diplomats etc. just can't go there (try it and see).

In response to the original question: see this (or this) to clear things up with respect to the map. As for custom battles, see this. Also, as you seem new to 1.0, remember that you need to install the 1.0 fixes after you install the 1.0 mod.

Um, that's not Dumatha. That's Terhazza. Dumatha has been scrapped, in the middle of Arabia.

Now the middle of Arabia and the Sahara desert are actually the same one province, capital Terhazza, location, lower left hand corner of the map. So you won't find a single settlement in the middle of Arabia. It's meant to be unconquerable since it's absolutely pointless to keep because it's just a raging howling desert wasteland.

But what could possibly prevent you from reaching Terhazza (with an army or diplomat-spy-assassin)?
