Hey everyone.

I've been thinking a lot about the role of assassins in hotseat games. Assassin wars can add an extra dimension to a game (see the Crusades game for an example) and result in shocking twists (like the alleged assassination of a Norse King in the Britannia game).

However, there is some possibility of abuse. In the Kingdoms games most factions start out decent sized and fairly well developed. The very smallest I've seen are in the Britannia and even they are about as largest as the biggest starting factions in the Grand Campaign.

When you only have two family members, an assassin spam can easily take out your faction. I've been thinking that maybe the GHC2 could do with a temporary ban on assassinating faction leaders, effective for maybe the first 20-30 turns or so, where everyone is consolidating into fewer, bigger factions.

What do you guys think? Is it a good idea? Is the faction leader bonus against assassins already big enough to make this a nonissue? Any input is welcome.
