Default Recommendations for a Vista Compatible Graphics Card

I think I'm giving up on Intel 945G chipset. Can anyone recommend another one.

That's the problem, cash is a bit limited at present. I'm thinking in the ballpark of $100.

So if I'm understanding the question correctly, you're using integrated graphics from Intel on your boxen, and you're looking for as good of a ~$100 video card as you can get.

Based on over five minutes of research, I'd suggest this as a good candidate. It certainly seems like a lot of card for the money, and the reviews are all tops. And it's $94.99. (Or $84.99 if you remember to mail in the rebate.)

I second Lemur. That is the best option for the money, just be sure to disable anti-aliasing if you are playing at a resolution above 1024x768 for better frame rates.

I feel the need to warn you Rick - with any ATi Graphics Card and Windows Vista it is impossible to get M:TW and (possibly) S:TW up and running. This is because older drivers, which could fix the issue, are not compatible with Vista.

If you do wish to play these games, you'll need a Nvidia Geforce 7 Series card or below which there are work arounds for, such as the AA 2x fix. The Geforce 8 Series does have multiple as of yet unresolved issues.

This is probably the best Geforce 7 card you can get for your money at current.

I just ordered the GeForce 7 online. That's not a bade price. It must be fairly decent, I called Best Buy and their sold out. Let's hope this redeems Vista for me.
