Gah! Saved game crashes upon loading.

Pretty basic post here.

My Makedonia campaign (who rock, btw) is going so well, i've crushed the Koinon, kicked the eperiotes out of greece, and am advancing rapidly into asia minor and Dacia. And then, of course, i can't load my game!

It just fills the load bar all the way, and then CTD's-giving me no error. Just "Rome Total War has stopped working" or whatever.

And on top of that, this was the most interesting game I've played yet because the Eperiotes (who have been banished from the golden shores of greece decades ago) have now completely annihilated the Romani! That's right, rome has 2 provinces in Gaul, with the vicious Eppies on their tales with huge stacks.

Just thought that was interesting, anway...

Please help me fix my saved game so I can continue to watch the conquering of the Greco-Italians!

If your other save games work fine, then your save is corrupted and unfixable. Reload an earlier save instead. Also note that if you installed an unofficial mod it could break any old savegames, you'd have to revert to the old files to make it work again.

I installed the City-Mod but that was a while ago, so I doubt that it's the problem.

Hmmm I don't have an earlier save (bows head in shame) but I do have three different save games.

Yeah, pretty ashamed of not having earlier saved games....

I guess I'll just start a new game, why do games get corrupted anyways?

Don't know, sorry. I could guess that there's a bad sector on your hard drive, a non-complete write of the save at some point or a corruption in your memory. But those are mere guesses.
