Default The Glory of Rome Campaign Thread

This thread will serve as the thread for announcements that are Campaign related, such as the end of a turn, conformations on completed missions, conformations on completed buildings/recruitments, movements, and all other "general" feedback.

Anything Senate related, such as Aedile or Quaestor reports, will be posted in the Senate thread.

    Example:
    Post by XXXX

I am conferming that the mission requested by the Senate to take the province of Athens has been completed. Here are our casualty results upon Legio Grecia III

The Brutii family is as follows:

    Cannae
    Governor: Tiberius Brutus
    Garrison: Amulius Brutus (garrison commander)
    3 Cohorts of Hastati
    2 Companies of Velites
    1 Company of Equites

    Tarentum
    Governor: Vibius Brutus
    Garrison: Aulus Brutus (garrison commander)
    2 Cohorts of Hastati
    2 Companies of Velites

Admiral Marcus commands one Bireme off the coast near Cannae.

We also have a diplomat near Cannae and a spy heading for Arretium.

TWS, that isnt the correct save. I opened it and it was still on the brutii...and no characters were moved. Just a ship. The Julii moved a unit near Rome so i know that they got their turn in...try uploading it again.

EDIT: Plus it is the winter on the campaign, and the brutii building queue has one turn already completed...I think you ened the turn or something and then used the script. You HAVE to run the script at the beginning of the turn, take the turn, then hit end turn. THEN you quit and upload the save file.

Then that means TWS accidentley pressed end turn and the computer moved everything...like i said it is winter of 270 BC which isnt possible yet.

I havent checked it (dont want to cheat) but if Rossahhs upload is correct (which he has experience so i believe it must be) then TWS just pressed end turn upon receiving it or something...

yes, that would explain it. When he pressed end turn, it just went back to the brutii or something..computerizing everyone elses turn.

I checked mine again and it works fine. It's the Scipii's turn; it starts in the bottom left corner of the map, staring at the ocean like it should, and the Scipii can't see the other Roman factions.

EDIT: I found his save. The only problem is that someone didnt nuetralize the Senate. When i go to the end of turn and try to load it up, it shows a blank white box instead of the seante symbol. I then thought maybe his save was broken, so i loaded the Scipii's turn and then ran the script, and then hit end turn. it still had a blank white box.

So have I not neutralised the Senate? I ermoved superfaction from descr_strat.. PS i only moved Gaius/Julianus into Capua and moved Cornelius closer to Croton. I'm 99% sure I did the script.

No, you have..someone else hasnt. When i try to load up the save, it is a white box instead of the SPQR symbol (purple). This leads me to believe someones data is different...either a wrong script, somone hasnt neutralized them, or someone hasnt made them playable..

You guys made them playable right?

I don't think I made them playable (as in going into descr_strat) because that wasn't on your list of things to do. If that needs to be done, I'll just do my turn again. (I did delete the super faction entries and run the script though).

Or else, as I'm going to be at uni until at least 7 hours from now, anyone could play as the Brutii (all I did was move everyone into their closest city and build walls in both) to help keep the game moving.

Im honestly not sure why it didnt work...just a white box. Run the cript until you get to my turn (just end the turns) and see if it works for you..

I'm still worried about whether Rossah played the right turn in the first place. There was GoR-1-Brutii and GoR-01-Brutii, the latter being correct, and when he uploaded his save as GoR-1-Scipii rather than GoR-01-Scipii it lead me to believe that he had played the wrong save.

I didn't the first time I played it EF, but when I reuploaded it (when TWS said it wasn't a .sav) I used the proper one instead.

All right, I tried it from the 01 game onwards. Brutii, then Scipii work fine, but when I go to end the Scipii's turn to get to the Senate, I get a ctd.

    Let's get out the checklist:

(made script with all 4 factions, new descr_buildings, etc.)
    ...up to here

    Download the data folder

    Add the 1.5 map

Delete the "other hotseat" code entry

Delete the "senate super faction" 3 times froms descr_strat

Put the senate into the the playable column in descr_strat

Change preferences in order to edit settlement names

    What am I missing?

Doesnt look like anything is missing...God this is frustrating...

Its only frustrating because we dont know what is wrong...

Try starting a campaign as the Julii and run the script. Just press end turn, and Ctr-L when the screen freezes. Keep doning this until you get to the Senate.

Ive done this and mine works, so someone has different data.

    TWS you there?
