Okay, that's a new one. Could you post some information about your hardware, such as (but not limited to) the amount of RAM you have, available harddisk space etc?

You should probably try to install using 7-zip instead. When creating the shortcut it should be like this:

    drive:\path\to\RTW\RomeTW.exe -mod:eb -show_err

You can add the -nm (no movies) and -ne (windowed mode) switches too if desired.

    Thanks...I'll follow your advice!

About my hardware these are the characteristcs:

Pentium IV 4 GHz, 256 Mb RAM, 60 GB free space, Intel graphics card 128 MB...

But RTW has always worked well!!!

    Thank you again!

I strongly suggest that you purchase some more RAM. EB runs best on 2GB of RAM, and I fear 256MB will be horribly slow for you. The lowest I've heard someone use so far is 384MB, and slow as hell, although 1GB may be sufficient for you in a pinch, as I'm sure you're used to things going rather slow on your computer.

You'll gain a lot of performance on everything you do on your computer other than play EB as well by getting more RAM. I believe this lack is the reason why it crashes when you try to install.
