Convincing the Publisher to Patch MTW,RTW for Vista

Can we convince the publishers or the designers to come out with a Vista patch for MTW/RTW?

Surely, they must realize how popular their product is. Given the problems we've been having with respect to playing MTW/RTW on Vista and given the loyalty of the fans, I think we deserve a patch.

Separately, as you all know Microsoft is coming out with a service pack, which is suppose to be released for download on or about the Ides of March (sorry, I had to put that in). Do you think this will help with the compatiblity problems and with respect to MTW in particular?

RTW plays on Vista, doesn't it? I think even MTW would work.

For M:TW it depends upon the graphics card and its drivers more than the OS. Due to this I doubt that service pack updates will have any effect.

ATi graphics cards have no solution for problems on Vista, not being able to downgrade drivers prevents the XP resolution from working. Nvidia Geforce 7 Series cards and below work fine, although their drivers cannot be downgraded, but do have alternative work arounds, such as the 2x fix, for problems relating to them.

The Nvidia Geforce 8 Series has no solution for any OS, including XP and below.

The 8 series cards have been made to work. One member did have success in the CTD thread in the apothecary. Vista is not the issue, the issue is graphics card drivers.

The SP1 seemed to help a little. And you guys are right, RTW does work on Vista, although I was playing RTR and for some reason experienced one CTD, but think it's because I installed it wrong. MTW is just strange. One minute I think it have it licked and then after 6 or 7 turns - another CTD.

I have to say this. Do not try to get help from Microsoft They have the most rude, the most inconsiderate and the most ignorant customer service support personnel on the face of the planet! I quote whoever said it in the movie the Battle of Gettysburg, "They couldn't pour pee out of a boot with the instructions written on the heal."

MTW works on my Vista,but it goes directly to CTD when I try to start a campaign.
Not really a big deal,as I'm currently engrossed in the Extended Greek Mod of RTW (and have M2,which plays okay but has a somewhat choopy frame rate) ,but still. You know?
