Thank you very much, friends, for you kind response to my story.
In fact, the post above is the beginning of my first EB1.0 campaign that consumed nearly all my free time from the day EB1.0 came out till late-November 2007. The first decade described in the post above was just the gathering storm.![]()
That storm really broke out in the second decade when Arche Seleukeia noticed my revolt and reoriented its main war effort against my new-born Parthian kingdom. But the real hell was still yet to begin...![]()
When I was shown in very graphic terms why is AS called "the Gray Death" barely holding my western borders, Saka Rauka (thanks to the money assistance script the richest faction, BTW) stroke with several stacks full of Early Saka Nobles. If armoured horse-archers are tanks of antiquity, than the battles that ensued were equivalents of Kursk 1943.![]()
The simple fact that I have lost five (!) family members in that tragic year 252 B.C.E alone illustrates the point clearly, especially given how extremely tough the Pahlavan FMs are.![]()
Finally I was able to stop the madness and slowly regain some strength. I have focused my effort on the comparatively weakest - but the most stubborn and aggressive - member of the enemy conspiracy against my poor (literally) kingdom: Bactria. Finally in 242 B.C.E. Bactria was destroyed and my eastern border secured.![]()
I still have got the savegame. But where is the AAR? Well, it is my negligence with backups. For my better convenience I was doing the AAR as a PowerPoint presentation to be then exported into .jpg pictures. But for some reason the huge file containing the interesting part of the story 262-242 B.C.E. got corrupted and all my work - several dozens of hours - was lost...!!!![]()

I was so upset that I was unable to continue that campaign and started another one. Now, when I recreated the Achaemenid Empire under the Orontid dynasty from Hayasdan (I have a weak spot for Eastern factions) the wound is healed enough for me to share at least the torso of the AAR from a much-enjoyed campaign. Your kind response is a great encouragement for me to continue the story further from my last save.
This is where I have got till 242 B.C.E.:
Thank you for your support. Beer to everybody!![]()
