The Ferrets are off to Germany for a bit, so you may need to find a sub for him phonicsmonkey.

Busted flush?
Is that like... a broken toilet?
Would you kindly speak American? I don't speak Aussie.
phonicsmonkey 05:04 08-08-2008
Clearly you're no more a poker player than I am an Australian..
Askthepizzaguy 05:05 08-08-2008
well I have no idea where you're from, but I never heard that term before, and I have played some poker. Maybe that's for guys who actually care about winning poker and bet real money.
phonicsmonkey 05:13 08-08-2008
Busted flush = four cards the same suit, fifth card different suit (a useless hand)
In the game you would use the term either to describe your hand afterwards, or to taunt someone that you suspect is going for a flush on the last draw card and has been betting on that basis.
Used colloquially (this from UsingEnglish.com) it means you are 'someone or something that had great potential but ended up a useless failure'
Askthepizzaguy 05:19 08-08-2008
I resemble that remark.

Sorry, couldn't get to it during weekend.
I'll have time I hope tomorrow evening. If not, I'll have flax sub for me yet again.
Banzai Kamikaze 23:58 08-13-2008
Very sorry about the waiting...
Hospital work swallowed all my free time recently, and I was away from my PC this weekend.

Bad Zim!
ok, so who's subbing for ATPG? Ramses?
Ramses II CP 04:08 08-14-2008
If he gives his permission I can have it done tomorrow.
Askthepizzaguy 01:20 08-16-2008
Sorry folks, I have to withdraw from the game.
See explanation on the BC2 game thread.
I was soooo hoping to thwart Rossahh's invasion AND send massive help to the hindus.
I hereby bequeath all my money to the Hindus, and all my provinces, to the Eastern Roman Empire. I will need to leave one province remaining, so whichever one is closest to Rossahh's invasion forces.
And also, be sure to destroy all the buildings I had in that province and give the money to the hindus.
Disband all forces besides my generals.
phonicsmonkey 02:19 08-16-2008
ATPG, I think I have one final idea for you - see the pm I just sent you and let us know whether you are willing to give it a try and stay in the game
Ramses, can you pls sub the turn for ATPG so the game can continue? I suggest you wait a turn before following his surrender instructions, in case he wants to try my idea and stay in the game
Ramses II CP 02:28 08-16-2008
I'll have this one subbed either later tonight or tomorrow early-ish. Shouldn't be much trouble to do it either way if I get instructions soon-ish.
Ramses II CP 15:17 08-16-2008
Just need to collect the PW and I'll pop this out in no time.
Askthepizzaguy 00:43 08-17-2008
Sorry for the delay everyone. I had assumed PM had pm'ed Ramses with my password.
You know what they say about people who assume, they make Jack a dull boy.

Okay, Oman is up:

I don't know how ATPG would want to address this in the Council thread, so I'll post the info here and let him decide. Vakha was retaken by the Turks, but that town north of there was lost and occupied by the KoJ. Prince Jean and Raynald de Chatillon were killed, and Balain's army was mostly wiped out, but Balain and the new prince, whatever his name is, just would not die (And of course the 2nd army's veteran infantry would not rout, only about half of them are dead) so the battle also cost the life of the Sultan and two of his other generals, and almost all of his army. It was a fun sub, sorry it took so long.
Askthepizzaguy 04:21 08-17-2008
As long as the Latin forces tasted good Turkish steel and were humilated by lesser forces, I can die a happy Sultan.
Sorry, no easy victory for Baldwin... not with the legendary
Ramses at the helm!
Bow before his genius. Bow, I said!
Ramses II CP 04:31 08-17-2008
The battle was a draw rather than a victory for either side, ~2500 dead KoJ and ~1400 dead Turks, but considering that losses acount for about 70% of the total Turkish nation's army including 3 family members and the nearby city is now ungarrisoned, though the tiny remains of the army may retreat there, it was a strategic victory for the KoJ. Don't toot my horn too hard, if the enemy hadn't been parked on a river crossing with virtually no ranged troops it wouldn't have even gone that well.
deguerra 05:08 08-17-2008
will do this tonight

LOL
It doesn't matter. There was no way the Turks could defeat the Latins, but, scoring that much in damage against those invaders is
very impressive.
