Each time a start a battle with this map, the game CTD's. I don't know why as everything else has run very smoothly on 1.0. Any ideas what might be causing it?

No. I know I played a battle at the place on an intermediate version pretty close to 1.0, and I don't really think there's been any relevant change since then.
