Thread: Lugian Priests of Baal?

    Default Lugian Priests of Baal?

Has anyone noticed the type of bodyguard units that the replacement governors for the scripted settlements north of the Alps get? They're Carthaginian bodyguards!
Just wondering, is that historical , or a bug. Not to worry, it's still a fun game, but the effect of those priests of Baal charging out of the forest at the head of a barbarian army is rather jarring. Has anyone else encountered this?

Actually, I noted it just a few days ago in my Romani campaign.
I had just defeated the last Karthastdim remnants in Iberia after decades of prolonged fighting against thousands of spawning Lybians all led by those annoying generals of theirs. I was almost ready to quit the game just because I could barely control my hatred against their bodyguards who just wouldn´t die even after being completely surroundred by hundreds of troops, and after finally defeating them once and for all I took my time (about 30 minutes that is) to celebrate their passing.
Imagin my suprise/anger/shock/frustration when I finally go back to my computer, and in the very first battle I enter I see a unit of Carthaginian Bodyguards charging my Hastati! I thought I was hallucinating, that the game was playing some sadistic trick on me, I went mad with frustration and sadness. Luckily I stray slingshot caught the general and soon they all routed.
Good riddance, if I ever see one of those bastards again in my campaign I don´t think I´ll be able to contol myself, and I´ll just stab the monitor with a kitchen knife.

Your annoying attitude, bad grammar, illogical arguments, false beliefs and pathetic attempts at humour have driven me and many other nice people from this forum. You should feel ashamed. Report here at once to recieve your punishment. Scumbag.

There already IS a fix for the Carthaginian bodyguards. . .Triarii, to the front!

    Oh, sorry for the Lybians.
I just noticed that after I destroyed the Epeirotes their remaining Generals also turned into Carthaginians.
Can someone please link me to this fix, I seem unable to find it.

I'm sorry. You misunderstood my post. I was merely stating that Triarii, or virtually any other spearmen for that matter, would be able to "fix", or destroy the Carthaginian bodyguards. As for an EDU fix, either wait for 1.1 to come out or ask someone else. I have no idea.
