The Turkish ambassador stands and looks at the Armenian delegate

We were in the middle of cease-fire negotiations with Baldwin... how are we to achieve a lasting peace now? Also, I have word from Rome that you've violated the Treaty of Baghdad by seizing Seleukia!

Are you also violating the Treaty of Adana by not consulting with your rightful lord, Sultan Kaikosru, before making these unilateral decisions? We have been lax in enforcing such provisions, but when you declared an alliance with the honourable Khwarezmid Shah, it interfered with our allies' movement and we were not informed.

Plus your first cease-fire was an insult to the Turkish people, as we risked war with both Jerusalem and Rome to help your nation in it's most desperate hour, only to have you sign agreements with the enemy without consulting us also.

At this point I find you in violation of several treaties, and you are going against the Coalition's policy of non-aggression. If you take this aggressive action, you do it alone, just as the Seljuks have not been granted the full support of the Coalition, nor the Ghaznavids for assisting them unilaterally.

I must remind Coalition members that they are not to unilaterally declare war on sovereign states ...no matter how vile and treacherous they may be... without consulting with Commander Kaikosru, as your actions have wide implications to all your allies. Indeed some may be embarrassed by being allies with aggressor nations when our very formation was based upon wiping them out!

At this time, I see the reasons for why Armenia took this action, as Tripoli was a war criminal and deserved to be hanged. But as my forces are still on the far side of my territory, I cannot assist you in this rash decision to attack.

My decision to attack Jerusalem was based on reclaiming your lost territories and to fulfill my treaty obligations in doing so. Now I have pressed for a cease-fire while you have decided to attack without consulting me. See how a united foreign policy would be better, that we might not step on one another's toes?

While I make war on your enemies, you sign cease-fires... while I fulfill treaty obligations and finally attempt to make a lasting peace, you declare war. I hope you are prepared to take on the armies of Baldwin, because I am sure the Caliph will be most displeased by your actions, and I don't want to risk my friendship with Allah's mighty emissary defending your actions.
