The Vizier stands, and is distracted for a moment as he glances hungrily at the pigeon, making a mental note to have the palace ghulams prepare bastilla for lunch.
The Caliph and all of the ummah mourn the death of the Great Salahuddin, a mighty warrior of Islam. If it is as the infidel says, and the Sultan has fallen defending his lands from the faithless crusaders, then he will dwell in paradise for all eternity, showered with the blessings of the mighty Allah (his name be praised to the high heavens.)
The Caliph would urge the new Sultan of Egypt to remain strong in the face of the deceitful lies of the leper King, who seeks only to secure his southern border so that he may better fight off the noble jihadis pouring into his lands from the North.
If the Sultan of Egypt will stay steadfast and refuse this offer of peace, the Caliph will pledge him the restoration of his Kingdom once the infidel has been defeated.
In the meantime the Caliph will arrange sanctuary for his family, that his line may continue despite the loss of his lands.
