Contrary to the manual - these things need to be moved by the player or am i missing something?
You have to move your own crusades, and you are limited in the path you have to take. The AI moves other crusades - rather randomly all over the place at the moment!
Ok, say I move my crusade through Hungry. Can I just leave it there to suck up troops or MUST I move it every turn?

No you can leave them there, but soldiers that join crusades start getting bored after a few years of no action and the numbers will start dropping if you wait too long..
