It's astonishing how the certainties of one's youth (the Iron Curtain, sectarianism etc) have become straws in the wind.
Makes one wonder what the next twenty years of "certainties" will yield.
"If there is a sin against life, it consists not so much in despairing as in hoping for another life and in eluding the implacable grandeur of this one."
Albert Camus "Noces"
Ignorant yank questions:
"Ard Fheis" = Political Party Convention/meeting?
Sinn Fein once = anti-Orange, therefore someone wearing wearing the sash, speaking with authority at their Ard Fheis, is equivalent to Fidel Castro speaking to the US Republican Convention?
Be well. Do good. Keep in touch.
In essence, yes.Originally Posted by KukriKhan

Well yes , to a certain extent , but singing the sash is still a good way to get a gobshite to throw the first punch .It's astonishing how the certainties of one's youth (the Iron Curtain, sectarianism etc) have become straws in the wind.
How come I trust the veracity of this statement in so total and complete a fashion?Originally Posted by Tribesman
