Default Elephants respawn if you kill them.

I was just fighting a battle against the Tirmurids, and I had one unit of elephants in my army. However, they soon routed and started to run amok over all my archers. So, I ordered the riders to kill them, and they did. However, when I got back to the campaign screen, my entire unit of elephants was allive!

Has this happened to anyone else? I realise some men get healed after every battle, but an entire unit of elephants?

    Useful bug anyway I suppose.

If they were one of the first unit to engage in the battle, chances are high they get healed. If you then have ancillaries raising the chance of recovery, you often get a full unit back.

    Not a bug.

That would make sense, since the elephants were the first unit to go into combat. Also I think that General has the 'Physician' trait.

Still though, 45 out of 45 recovered? The ratio was nothing like that for the other units.

Sounds like he should have a 'vetinarian' trait.

I havent dabbled with elephants too much with M2TW. But I clearly remember something like this happening to me in an old RTW GC I played (as Carthage).
